AARON'S AS MEDIA
CHARACTER OUTLINES
The only character in my sequence is the main character. He is so anonymous, I still haven't decided a name for him, as I think his name is insignificant, so during the planning section I have just been reffering to him as 'main character'.
The whole ethos of my main character is that he's completely anonymous, the audience never sees his face. He's quite a personal person, he has friends and a social life but he's never the centre of attention, and he has a very strong internal monologue - he almost talks to himself. He's also quite a funny person, with a good sense of humour. He is very cynical.
The first time we encounter him in the sequence is in the first scene, where he sits down for the interview in his garage. Here, he is in his mid-twenties (around 25), he has a regional accent, although his voice is being distorted by a voice-changer. He tells his story over the following footage, supposedly filmed in the past.
The next time we meet the character is in the film he is presented with during the interview, it's a film of him in his younger-years, when he began persuing graffiti as a hobby. Here he is of college age, in his late-teens (17-18). To begin with he is portrayed as an ordinary college student, leaving college and making his way home, via the bus. He is failing at most of his subjects and regards college life as difficult and unenjoyable, the only reason he still goes is to see his friends and get high.
At night he becomes a very active graffiti artist, he's passionate about graffiti and he does consider it art, but his real ideology is that it is simply 'vandalism', he sees it as his release from his 'average' life during the day and at college.
